Green Galaxy Interstellar Flare Base
Running through the monumental mountains of the planet Agau are rivers and streams holding the clearest water found anywhere within the mapped universe. Moving through this iridescent fluid are the same Swarovski crystals discovered deep within the caves of Agau. The unrivaled clarity of these rivers is acquired whenever they are combined with another liquid substance.
Green Galaxy™ Interstellar Flare Base - A special effects water base used to reduce and/or bind Interstellar and Green Galaxy HSA Water Base products.
Used when Innerstellar 100% concentration is too strong, a very clear special binder system that allows the shimmer effect to show through, using another kind of reducer will dim the effect. This product will achieve a shiny effect on its own with underprinting and keeping a flat surface. Also can be used to add better wash test fastness to other Green Galaxy HSA Water Base products.
Can be used in combination with any ink with any mesh between 90-305.
Stencil & Emulsion Guidelines
We recommend using either a water resistant emulsion like Green Galaxy™ CryoCoat and with mesh degreased with Green Galaxy™ CryoPrep degreaser. For extended life and long runs it is recommend to post expose the screens or use an emulsion hardener like Ryonet® Harden-X.
Be sure to stir product prior to use. When using Interstellar Gold and Silver Flare add 10% Flare Base to ink which will help thin and bind the Flare products. In order to eliminate any tackiness that may occur you can also add up to 5% Slipstream Silicon Additive though if you are printing direct to garment you should not need Slipstream Silicon Additive. You can also use to add durability to puffs and other Green Galaxy HSA Water Base Ink products.
Load screen with plenty of ink. Flood screen prior to printing. Green Galaxy™ HSA Water Based Ink can be printed with a push or pull squeegee stroke. If printing on an automatic, use a medium squeegee blade and medium squeegee pressure, two passes is typically recommended. After printing, flood screen allowing ink to sit on top of image to avoid drying. If screen clogs or exhibits dry ink in the print, re-flood and aggressively print again, this should clear the screen. If it does not clear the screen, spray a small amount of warm water into the stuck areas of the screen and wipe out with a rag. If you are leaving your screen for an extended period of time be sure to clean your image completely. If your ink begins to scale over, spray with water to wet the ink. Green Galaxy™ HSA Water Based Ink can be printed with other water based inks and with plastisol inks.
For flashing, forced air flash is optimal. Flash until dry to the touch, best to print last in print order.
Any Green Galaxy product may be used as under base.
Printed fabric should be cured for a minimum of 90 seconds at 360°F. Ideally, printed fabric should be cured for three minutes at 300-320°F. When curing with ovens that are smaller, we recommend the use of Green Galaxy™ Drive Low Cure Catalyst to ensure a final cure is achieved after 48 hours.
Testing and Precautions
For dye block testing: Print as directed and let the printed sample sit for 24 hours to check for dye migration. If dye migration persists, use two layers of blocker or add catalyst and reduce cure temperature.
For cure testing: After set period, perform a stretch test to ensure elasticity. It is always recommended to perform a wash test to ensure proper cure prior to going into production. You may also run abrasion testing to watch for flaking and test adhesion. Increase cure dwell time if testing fails.
Ink should be removed from screen as soon as printing is completed. General wash-up (on ink that has not dried) can be done with water, though using Sgreen™ Aqua Wash is much easier and recommended. For aggressive or dried screens, use Sgreen™ Aqua Wash to dissolve ink and blast out areas of stuck ink with water pressure.
Keep container(s) tightly closed. Store in cool, well-ventilated location that is locked.
