Ever had issues screen printing on cotton/polyester blends, 100% polyester or stretchable poly fabrics? These types of garments are difficult to print due to dye migration caused by the polyester fabric heating up and releasing its dye into the ink which will change the inks color. To add to the problem, traditional poly-blocking inks are very thick and hard to work. Ryonet‘s 7100 Performance Series from International Coatings is a low-bleed, non-phthalate, low fusing, fast flashing, low tack, plastisol based polyester printing ink that will take your athletic screen printing to the next level. With the 7100 Series you can print easier, cure at a lower temperature, and have confidence your ink will block dye transfer.
Preparation

Screens must be coated with a plastisol or hybrid emulsion. Post-hardening the stencil is recommended for long print runs. If using with a pigment system, mix in pigment at the desired shade or level. 1-10% is normal for standard pigments and up to 20% for fluorescent pigments. You may mix in Curable Reducer to help thin the ink at a mix ratio of 1-25% by volume. Adding reducers may reduce the opacity of the ink.



Application

Print wet-on-wet without flash curing. Degree of color/wash fastness is dependent on proper curing.



Mesh

36 to 305t/in. The mesh count being used will determine how much squeegee pressure should be used.



Squeegee

60-80 Durometer. Can also use 70/90/70 triple durometer squeegees. Typically heavy squeegee pressure is preferred.



Emulsion

Use RXP, HiFi or any standard plastisol emulsion.



Cure Instructions

325°F through the entire ink film. Test dryer temperatures before a production run. Wash test printed product prior to beginning production run.



Clean Up

Plastisol Screen Wash such as Citra Paste. You may use mineral spirits sparingly, as it my break down screen adhesive.

Storage

Store in cool dry place. Elevated temperatures thicken product and shorten useful life.
