Spray the mesh lightly with water and wipe the excess water from the outside of the frame to avoid water drops running into the adhered film. Contact the rolled film leading edge onto the top of the wet vertical screen and unroll the film down the screen, thus adhering it to the mesh. Flip the screen over laying it on a piece of old newsprint. Adhere the film while removing excess moisture from the inside of the screen with a light weight window squeegee. Wipe excess water from the perimeter of the frame with an absorbent cloth then proceed to drying. Peel off the plastic carrier sheet when it's dry and allow the capillary film to stabilize for 5 to 10 minutes. This will keep the positive from peeling off on the film since the surface under the plastic carrier sheet is still moist. This will give the screen a deeper ink well, which is great for high density and puff inks where edge resolution and thicker ink deposit are desired. Remember that the additional coating will add an average of 30 to 45 seconds on your exposure times. To ensure a lasting screen it's recommended (after covering pin-holes and coating the outside of the screen perimeter when it's dried) to expose again or leave the screen outside in the sun for a few moments to harden.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2636/4748/products/ryocap-screen-capilary-film-16x300in-ryonet-917666.jpg?v=1762526536
screen-exposure-calculator-emulsion-step-wedge
BASELAYR Step Wedge Basic Emulsion Exposure Calculator

If you want to ensure that your screen is properly exposed, you’ll want to have a 21-Step Exposure Guide on hand. With brand new screens we recommend a Dehaze and also a degrease step before coating.

COATING

By hand: Using a high quality scoop coater or coating trough, apply one or two coats to the substrate (t-shirt) side of the screen, followed by one or two coats on the squeegee side. For a thicker stencil, apply additional coats to the squeegee side prior to drying. For a higher quality stencil with a minimal increase in stencil thickness, apply one or two additional coats to the substrate side of the screen after the initial coats have dried.

STORAGE

When sealed in the original container and stored in cool conditions, Saati products will maintain their original properties for one year from the date of production.

PRODUCT DATA SHEETS

Tech Data Sheet

Safety Data Sheet

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2636/4748/files/saati-textil-phu-hr-red-emulsion-emulsion-saati-996109.jpg?v=1762568453
baselayr-long-lasting-diazo
Baselayr Long Lasting Diazo

Baselayr Long Lasting Diazo is the required sensitizer for activating Baselayr Long Lasting Emulsion and converting it into a durable dual cure stencil system. Each container of Baselayr Long Lasting Emulsion already includes a bottle of diazo, so this product should only be purchased if your original diazo has been damaged, misplaced, or needs replacement. When properly mixed, it enhances stencil strength, improves mesh adhesion, and ensures reliable curing performance, making it essential for achieving consistent, long lasting results in your screen printing workflow.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

For quarts, add up to 33% of distilled water to the bottle of diazo. For gallons, add up to 50% of distilled water to your bottle of diazo. Do not use tap water. Tap water contains minerals that can interfere with proper adhesion of the emulsion to the mesh.

Shake the container, completely dissolving the diazo into the water.

Add mixed diazo to the container of Baselayr Long Lasting.

Carefully stir in the diazo completely.

Let sit for a couple hours to let the air bubbles settle out.

Apply emulsion to a clean, degreased, and dried screen mesh with a scoop-coater using appropriate application techniques. Try using Baselayr Emulsion Prep, a screen mesh degreaser and adhesion promoter, whenever possible. Depending on your screen and stencil thickness needs, use either the sharp edge or round edge of the scoop coater, coating once or twice per side. More coats means a thicker stencil. Be sure to rotate the screen so that you are pushing the emulsion from both sides to bond around the knuckles of the mesh. Experiment to find what works best for you within your shop.

Allow your freshly coated screen to dry, shirt side down.

Expose your screen with the recommended light source. As with all emulsions, test for appropriate exposure time for your unit before exposing your design. Use a Step Wedge Calculator to determine the proper amount of time required to fully cure your stencil. If needed, you can harden your stencil by post-exposing it (make sure the stencil is completely dry like a fresh screen), putting it back in your exposure unit and exposing for 3x the initial exposure time. You can also place your screen in direct sunlight.

Reclaiming Baselayr Long Lasting is easy and works with most stencil removers or reclaimers that are available in concentrate and ready-to-use formulas.
