Elevate your darkroom with Baselayr Long Lasting Emulsion. It’s a high performance, high solids, dual cure emulsion designed for printers who are either new to screen printing, do not have a proper light safe darkroom, or do not have an LED or better exposure unit. The emulsion works with water-based and plastisol ink types — the dominant ink types on the market today.
Formulated with both novice and advanced screen printers in mind, burned images will rinse out effortlessly and screens will reclaim easily when the stencil is properly dried and exposed. Baselayr Long Lasting will work with virtually all exposure units. Specifically created to be user-friendly, Baselayr Long Lasting is an emulsion all printers can rely on.
If WBP, RXP, or DCM emulsions were in your darkroom, transitioning to Baselayr Long Lasting will be easy. Featuring the same emulsion properties you like, Long Lasting has everything you need in one emulsion. Better yet, the image resolution is enhanced.
NOTE: This emulsion comes with a bottle of Diazo. Diazo must be added to the emulsion for it to work. Details on usage below.

When using light sources like fluorescents, black light, halogen, or off the shelf LED flood lights etc, use Baselayr Emulsion Prep — a screen mesh degreaser and adhesion promoter. The product will assist you in creating a more receptive surface for the emulsion to adhere to.
Exposure variables depend on mesh count, mesh color, stencil thickness and moisture level in the coated screen. Keep humidity levels below 40% at all times. Use a dehumidifier to ensure proper darkroom humidity levels.
To further dial in your exposure time, run the Step Wedge test with a Step Wedge Calculator.

While the screens are in the drying process, after burning in, sometimes this emulsion will seep into the image, ruining it. Now I have to reburn and hope it doesn't happen again. Waste of time and money. Good luck reclaiming this emulsion too. Unless you reclaim your screens immediately, this emulsion will not wash out (yes I use high pressure power washer) and screens will be ruined. Big waste of money. Be prepared to buy more screens. If you do purchase this product, you better read the online instructions for mixing it, if you are unsure. Mixing directions are no longer included with the product, and neither is a stir stick. So you may also want to run to your local paint store to get some stir sticks. I've printed for many years and have never had the problems that I've had with this. Please bring back WPB!!!
Hi Tony, Thank you for leaving us a review on your experience with the BaseLayr Long Lasting Emulsion. We have submitted a case and are reaching out to you directly. Thank you - Courtney
Sorry compared to the previous emulsion nolonger available this emulsion does not measure up. It takes longer to dry. It takes longer to wash out. I waste screens from getting blow up or pin holes around design on a third of the screens I wash out. I usually process 15 screens a day and I'm having to redo work that costs me less time on the press. Maybe the more expensive versions will work. I would like the previous emulsion back if possible.
Hi Cavit, Thank you for reaching out and leaving feedback on your experience with BaseLayr Long Lasting Emulsion. Also the picture is appreciated as well. I am going to reach out to you directly so I can offer further support. Thank you! - Courtney
The image doesn’t wash out after burning. Our company has used the wbp since we started but now we will stop buying from your company since the products keep disappearing.
Hello Shaun! Thanks for reaching out. I am sorry to hear this emulsion didn't work well for you! It's possible these were subjected to too much heat in transportation. I'd be happy to replace them so you can give it another chance. I left you a voicemail and look forward to connecting with you soon on this. Sincerely, April w/ Ryonet
I’ve been using Ulano Orange on my fluorescent exposure unit for a while. This is a game changer. Until I upgrade, this emulsion will be part of our operation. Burn time was quicker and the stencil did it’s damn job. Thanks, guys!
Boom! That is awesome to hear! Once you upgrade your exposure unit, you'll want to try Baselayr Complete :-). Happy Printing!!
We have been seeing the same issues as some of the other reviews. Longer drying and exposure times. Designs blowing out when rinsing. Not even close to the quality of the WPB Hybrid we loved for years
Hi Paula, Thank you for the feedback and review on the BaseLayr Long Lasting emulsion. We will reach out directly through a case but I first wanted to suggest drying with a dehumidifier and not a fan. Will talk to you soon, thanks again, Courtney!
