Aluminum frames do not warp when exposed to water, ensuring a flat frame for thousands of prints.
- White mesh helps emulsion expose faster, reducing time spent in the darkroom.
- A 156 mesh count is one of the most standard sizes, great for laying down a moderate amount of ink while maintaining details.
Looking for high-quality, pre-stretched, aluminum screens? You've come to the right place. Baselayr offers a vast selection of aluminum screens, varying in mesh count, frame size, and mesh color.
The advantage of aluminum frames are the durability and longevity they retain. All aluminum frames are constructed of the highest grade aluminum and hand welded in the USA. Aluminum frames will not warp when exposed to water in a dip tank or washout sink. You'll have a flat frame through thousands of prints to come. Aluminum frames are also light weight which makes shipping less expensive.
PURPOSE OF 156 MESH COUNT
156 mesh is great for general purpose textile printing with basic to semi-fine detail. They will hold a little finer detail than 110 mesh and also work well with thinner inks. Check out this blog to learn more about mesh counts and their uses.

Great silkscreen for a great price
Great silkscreen for a great price. Purchased it for a printmaking course I was taking and it’s a great quality. I ended up referring to a class mate because it wasn’t being sold anywhere else for a great quality. Shipping was also A+, it was delivered two days after it shipped which was perfect because it came just in time for my course.
My go-to screen
I use these 23x31 screens for almost everything I print. I do mostly oversized water based prints and all-over designs on sleeves so the scale is ideal. Quality is great, they stand up well to repeat washing and the edges are always clean/soft (no sharp glue hanging over)
Hey there! Thank you so much for leaving a review! Glad you love our oversized screens! :) Matt C
Decent Screen - A bit pricy
Decent screens but pretty pricey. Im not a big fan of the glue used on the sides, seems the break down or peel away relatively easily.
Hey Robert, Looking to save some money on screens? I highly recommend checking out our eco frames! Once you have the kit, mesh averages out to less than $15 a panel.
