If you are aligning manually, position the top of your print by measuring down from the collar using your fingers as a quick visual reference.

On a 17 inch graphic, dropping the top of the design about two fingers below the collar allows the rest of the art to flow naturally over the seam and onto the pocket below.
Manage Off-Contact Across Seams

Be extremely conservative with your flash unit between colors. Flash only enough to skin the top layer of the ink so the next color does not pick up on the back of your screen. Avoid fully curing or overheating the fleece under the flash unit, as excessive heat will shrink the pocket area and ruin your registration.

After your final print pass, send the hoodie through your conveyor dryer. Give discharge ink a little extra dwell time inside the heat chamber so the discharge chemical reaction completes fully, leaving you with a crisp, bright, incredibly soft print.
Troubleshoot Common Hoodie Seam Issues
If your prints are not coming out completely smooth over the pocket seam, review these quick troubleshooting steps to adjust your shop process:
- Design misses the pocket entirely: Your loading placement was set too high. Adding a laser system to your press or using consistent finger-width measurements prevents loading errors.
- Text misregisters at the bottom: Heat shrinkage pulled the fabric out of place. Always pre-shrink your hoodies through the dryer before printing and reduce flash times on press.
- Chunky or rough texture at the seam: Thick ink is building up on the ridge. Swap heavy plastisol for reduced plastisol or a premium discharge system to maintain a smooth surface.
