TOOLS REQUIRED:

  • 1/2" wrench
  • 9/16" wrench
  • 5/32" Allen wrench
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Pliers

WHAT’S IN THE BOX:

  • Main flash hood assembly (x1)
  • Quartz 1300-watt bulbs (x6 for 18x18, x9 for 18x24)
  • Heat shield plate (x1)
  • Upper mounting assembly (x1)
  • Lower base assembly (x1)
  • Lower base legs (x2)
  • Hardware kit (x1)

STEP 1

Attach the legs to the lower base. Use the provided 5/16" x 3/4" hex cap screws, 5/16" lock washers, and 5/16" flat washers. You will need a 1/2" wrench for this step.

STEP 2

Attach the locking casters and caster spacers to the front leg crossbar. Pliers are required to secure these components.

STEP 3

Attach the leveling knobs, 3/8" lock nuts, and leveling feet to the rear leg crossbar. Use pliers to hold the leveling foot while you tighten the locknut with a 9/16" wrench.

STEP 4

Install the lifting rod into the lower base. Stack one 5/16" flat washer and one 5/16" nylon washer on top. Lower the upper base assembly onto the lower base assembly through the hole. Stack another 5/16" nylon washer and 5/16" flat washer on top of the rod. Install the lifting knob, aligning the set screw with the circular relief, and lock it using a 5/32" Allen wrench. Hand-tighten the nylon tension bolt to adjust the lift.

STEP 5

Install the main hood assembly screws and 5/16" washers onto the upper mounting bracket. Secure the unit using the supplied 5/16" hex cap and a 1/2" wrench. Ensure the power cord runs across the rear of the mounting bracket.

STEP 6

Install the heat shield onto the front of the upper mounting bracket. Use the supplied #8 screws, washers, and keps nuts to secure it.

STEP 7

Bulb Safety: Avoid touching the bulb surface with bare hands. Wear gloves or hold them by the ceramic ends.

Install the 1300-watt quartz bulbs into the spring-loaded sockets. Start with one side and rotate the other side into the opposite socket. The 18x18 unit requires six bulbs, while the 18x24 unit requires nine.

STEP 8

Electrical Note: The quartz flash does not include a power cord end. A licensed electrician must install the proper power connection based on the wattage and amperage requirements for your specific model.
