Labor Day Learning – How To Screen Print Series
“The best investment you can make, is an investment in yourself… The more you learn, the more you’ll earn.” -Warren Buffet
The more you learn, the more you’ll earn… This is especially true with screen printing. Screen printing is a multi-faceted profession, with a lot of different ways to do the same thing: Make a shirt.
As with most things, practice makes perfect, but experience can’t teach you everything. If you’re just getting into screen printing, do yourself a favor and spend some time on education! There are a lot of options for learning how to screen print, many of which are free and available to you anywhere. Take, for example, our YouTube channel and Knowledge Base. Over the years, we have been building up both of these education channels, trying to answer as many screen printing related questions as we can. And we’re still expanding! These are videos and articles that you can go through on your own time, from the comfort of your own home. Even for printers who have been in the game for a while, these are a great opportunity for extended learning.
If you’re looking for a more in-depth type of instruction, then we also offer classes. Our online class choices can help you to learn both Adobe Illustrator as well as CorelDRAW, two of the most commonly used art programs in the screen printing industry. We also offer a water based online course, to teach you what sets water based apart, and how to successfully print with it.
Our onsite Screen Print Experience courses are held across the country, in Washington, California, Colorado, Ohio, Texas, Louisiana, New York, Florida, and Illinois. These two day courses are run by real screen printers, right out of their shops. The very hands-on class takes you from the artwork phase all the way to the printed shirt, going over various printing types and techniques along the way. During the class, you’ll actually get your hands on a squeegee, and if you’d never printed before, you’ll walk away having done so!
If you’re trying to make a go of screen printing, don’t forget that you’re also running a business! Recently, we released a book written by our CEO and founder, Ryan Moor, called “Made To Make It: A Guide to Screen Printing Success.” It takes wisdom and advice from printers who have been in the industry for a long time, and ties in Ryan Moor’s own experiences with starting and growing Ryonet, to help you grow your own business.
We also wanted to take the time this Labor Day to remind you that, no matter where you’re at in your screen printing journey, you’re not alone. We are here to help with any questions or problems you might have, and we have a lot of ways for you to reach us. If you’re looking for a quick response, but don’t want to make a call, join us on Chat! If you have a technical problem, and you’re needing an in-depth answer, you can submit a tech ticket. Sometimes, you want to describe an issue and show what you’re talking about with pictures, or you want to inquire about an order. The best way for that is to shoot us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you’re looking to get ahold of one of our Sales Team or Success Team with general inquiries, we have forms you can fill out for that, too! Don’t hesitate to reach out to us, we’re always happy to help.
Ryonet has always strived to educate first, sell second, and we are bringing that idea home this Labor Day. Recently, we started releasing an updated version of our How To Screen Print Series, where each video is dedicated to a specific part of the process. Today, we are publishing the rest of the series, free and available for you to view any time. You can find the series below. It starts at the beginning stages of the process, and takes you all the way to a finished shirt.
