Los dos tamaños de malla más estándar son 110 y 158.Un recuento de malla de 110 colocará una capa bastante gruesa de tinta. Esta malla es ideal para letras de texto en bloque y diseños de color spot más grandes. También es una malla recomendada para su base porque solo tendrá que hacer un pase, lo que acelera la producción. 158 Mesh establecerá una cantidad moderada de tinta, pero ofrece más capacidad de detalle para su imagen.
Las pantallas de malla más altas, 196 y más, se usan con mayor frecuencia para imágenes de detalles más finas y tintas más delgadas. Las tintas gráficas, de descarga y a base de agua deben imprimirse a través de pantallas de este tamaño de malla. El mayor recuento de malla ayuda a evitar que las tintas más delgadas se inundan en su sustrato. Si desea obtener una sensación de mano más suave en sus impresiones de plastisol, estos recuentos de malla más altos también pueden ayudar. Si bien sus impresiones de plastisol pueden sentirse más suaves, puede sacrificar la opacidad de la tinta utilizando un recuento de malla más alto.
