Poor design

This product is poorly designed and does NOT work on a structured cap like they state. You might be able to print on a foam hat but that would be it. And they charge a re-stocking fee to return. Do not recommend to anyone, don't waste your money.

Don't waste your time.

Just purchased the hat clamp and am immediately disappointed. The unit isn't consistent, only works with generic foam trucker hats, and even the the clamp creates creases and folds in the hat leaving a product that looks used, or squashed. I tried a few other hats and would rather just out source them or use an embroidery machine to achieve the results I'm looking for. To top it off, they charge you an extra $70 per platen to get the lower profile, and visor platens, which I am sure leave the same inconsistent printing results. NEXT!

Works under strict limited constraints.

I purchased the Hat Champ to print on baseball caps. It has some limitations. The size of the print is limited to a maximum size of 4.75" wide by 2.75" tall. It's not a bad size but it's smaller than you want sometimes. It is also not a great option for structured hats that have a stiffer front panel area as the hat has to flatten completely and wrap around the small platen surface to offer a good flat print surface. This product works well with flexible foam trucker hats and 5-panel soft caps that don't have a seam running down the middle. I sometimes use this product but often, I just burn my screens inverted and print heat transfers to use on a heat press for hats. I paid a bit over $425 for this product and I feel it's expensive given its limitations.

Works great

Just bought this hat champ. There is a little bit of a learning curve when doing tight multi color images on a foam hat. I actually had to simplify the image a little bit so it could actually be printed. But now that I know its limitations it won't be so frustrating. The press prints great and would work really good doing single color images. I would recommended this product

Thanks for the feedback Charlie! There definitely is a learning curve to the hat champ but works really well for what it's made for. :)

Well built product

Construction is solid and producing consistent prints is very possible. Hats aren't shirts, so take your time setting up and pay attention to the details and you'll be very happy with this product.
