Diving Deep Into The World of PolyOne Wilflex | Screenprinting.com

PolyOne. Wilflex. EPIC. RIO. Top Score. That’s a lot of names! We know we’re adding a lot of new products this year but it’s for very good reason. Each new line is specifically made for a unique use around your shop so that ALL of your bases are covered. Here’s a breakdown of what to expect from our new Wilflex partnership:

PolyOne – PolyOne Corporation is a global provider of specialized polymer materials, services, and solutions. The company is headquartered in Avon Lake, Ohio, employs over 7,300 people and has 60 manufacturing sites and nine distribution facilities in North America, Europe, Asia and South America. PolyOne offers more than 52,000 polymer solutions to over 14,000 customers across the globe

Wilflex – PolyOne’s textile ink division. Wilflex is globally recognized for being the leading manufacturer of high quality and cost effective textile printing inks and is known for consistent quality, ease of use, innovation and support. See them on our site here.

EPIC – WIlflex’s non-phthalate chemistry product lines. Phthalates are a group of chemicals used to soften and increase the flexibility of plastic and vinyl. The human health effects of phthalates are not yet fully known, but they are classified as “reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen.” Regardless of how you view this, it is better to avoid exposure. All Wilflex EPIC inks do just that.

Top Score – Part of the EPIC line of inks, this non-phthalate premixed athletic ink is designed to meet the changing demands in the athletic market by delivering a solution for printing on polyester substrates that require low cure temperature. It also happens to be the only matte poly ink on the market.

RIO – Part of the EPIC line of inks, this non-phthalate finished ink mixing system is formulated for a perfect balance of color accuracy and opacity for peak press performance and color design. It is an easy-to-use, easy-to-mix color mixing system with 18 inter-mixable colors that enable printers to produce accurate PANTONE® simulations. The increased opacity helps printers get to color quicker on press even when using fine mesh screen sizes, saving printers ink and money.

Special Effects – Part of the EPIC line of inks, includes Shimmers, Glitters, Textures, Puff, Glow in the Dark, and much more. When printed and cured on a garment these inks create unique surface textures and can be used as bases alone, or in combination with other additives such as pigment concentrations.
